Government Relations Committee

The purpose of the Government Relations Committee (GRC) is to promote the legislative and regulatory priorities of NCDA and to advocate for the career development profession. NCDA GRC members take a proactive role in raising issues and concerns, and promoting initiatives to demonstrate the importance of career development and the impact it has on the nation’s existing and future workforce. In addition, the GRC will take the lead on fostering relations and outreach to state Career Development Associations to help them stay current on government relations issues impacting NCDA members across the nation.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Influence key legislation & regulations impacting career development practitioners.
  • Communicate with NCDA members regarding legislative updates.
  • Foster state-level legislative advocacy.
  • Develop NCDA members’ advocacy skills and demonstrate a presence in Washington, DC, through an annual Hill Day event.
  • Promote NCDA government relations and advocacy through global conference committee meetings and presentations, sharing legislative updates and wins, and recognizing key legislative champions with an annual award.
  • Liaise with NCDA committees and external organizations with similar legislative priorities.
